Why We Built This

Built around the doctor.
Not around the technology.

Every decision we made had one filter — does this make a medical professional's life simpler? One library for everything you save, accessible on every device, searchable by your own words. No friction between you and the knowledge you have already earned.

The Story

A doctor who saw the problem. A team that solved it.

Dr. Sumit Kumar

Teaching Faculty · Deptt of Radiodiagnosis · UCMS & GTB Hospital, Delhi, India

Dr. Sumit Kumar spent fifteen years across every setting medicine takes you — hostel rooms, classrooms, wards, OPDs, clinics, outdoor camps, the Operation Theatre, and more. First as a student, then as a teacher. Through all of it, the same problem followed: bright, hardworking people spending time they did not have searching for resources they had already found once. A textbook on one device. A paper saved on another. Notes lost in an email. The knowledge was never the issue. The organisation always was.

Recognising that this was a structural problem, not a personal failing, Dr. Sumit brought it to Saurabh Chaudhary — a cloud infrastructure engineer with a track record of building systems at scale. Saurabh brought in his associate, Rahul Singh, to share the technical workload. Together with designer Amit Kumar, they formed the team that would build the answer. Dr. Sumit presented the problem the way only an experienced educator can: with precision, clarity, and concrete examples drawn from years in medical colleges and hospitals.

“Every doctor — student, resident, specialist, or faculty — reads, saves, and loses the same resources. The knowledge was never the issue. The organisation always was.”
— Dr. Sumit Kumar

Saurabh owned the infrastructure — scalable cloud storage, secure encrypted pipeline, real-time sync. The parts a user never sees but always depends on. Rahul built the annotation engine — highlights, handwriting, Apple Pencil support, real-time sync across devices — the part every user interacts with on every page. Amit translated requirements into an interface that gets out of the way and lets doctors focus on their material. Dr. Sumit's role was narrower but precise — he never pushed a feature for its own sake. Every time a new idea came up, his question was the same: does a real doctor need this, or does it just seem useful? That filter kept the product focused.

“Sumit never told us how to build it. He just made absolutely certain we never forgot who we were building it for.”
— Mr. Saurabh Chaudhary

The result of that collaboration is Paper Library — a platform designed not around what was convenient to build, but around what doctors genuinely need.

The Team

Each person did what only they could do.

The Compass

Dr. Sumit Kumar

Teaching Faculty · Deptt of Radiodiagnosis · UCMS & GTB Hospital

Dr. Sumit Kumar spent fifteen years across every setting medicine takes you — hostel rooms, classrooms, wards, OPDs, clinics, outdoor camps, the Operation Theatre, and more. First as a student, then as a teacher. That journey gave him something rare: a precise, firsthand picture of what learners actually need at every stage. He brought that clarity to the team as a brief that was never wrong. That is the reason this product exists.

The Architect

Mr. Saurabh Chaudhary

Cloud Engineer

Saurabh led the technical build of Paper Library — cloud infrastructure, secure storage, real-time sync, and everything that keeps the platform running reliably at scale. Working alongside his associate Rahul Singh, who built the annotation engine, he turned a precise brief into a platform that simply does not fail. Every document upload, every cross-device session, every annotation runs on what they built.

The Associate

Mr. Rahul Singh

Cloud & Systems Engineer

Rahul owns one of the hardest parts of Paper Library — the PDF annotation engine. Highlights, handwriting, notes, Apple Pencil support, real-time sync across devices: all of it is his work. PDF annotation is a genuinely niche discipline — few engineers have done it well. Rahul has. Alongside Saurabh, he also contributed to the cloud infrastructure that keeps the platform reliable at scale.

The Designer

Mr. Amit Kumar

UI/UX Designer

Amit is responsible for everything you see and feel on Paper Library. He translated a complex set of requirements into an interface that gets out of the way and lets students focus on what matters — their material. Every layout decision, every interaction detail, every screen was designed with a single question in mind: does this make it simpler?

Who It's For

Every stage of a medical career. One platform.

The problem of scattered, untrackable learning material does not belong to one year of training. It follows you from the first semester to the last lecture you ever give.

MBBS

Undergraduates

Textbooks, lecture slides, past papers, clinical postings — all landing in different places across 4.5 years of undergraduate training. Paper Library keeps it in one place from day one.

Interns

House Officers

Ward protocols, drug references, case summaries, rotation notes. The internship year is fast — your resources need to keep up.

Postgraduate

PG Residents

Research papers, thesis references, exam prep materials, departmental guidelines. Upload from your phone, annotate on any screen, retrieve in seconds.

Fellows

Super-Specialists in Training

Subspecialty literature accumulates fast. Case reports, landmark trials, fellowship protocols — your library grows with your expertise.

Specialists

Practising Consultants

Keeping up with the latest evidence is part of the job. Save every guideline update, every journal article, every clinical reference — and actually find them when a patient is in front of you.

Faculty

Teachers & Professors

Teaching material, research papers, departmental resources, reference articles — built up over years and too valuable to lose. One organised library, always at hand.

For PG Doctors, Fellows, Specialists & Faculty

Every practising doctor reads 4–5 articles a day.
Almost none of them can find those articles a week later.

You are not a student anymore — but the problem did not go away. Journal articles, clinical guidelines, case reports, conference papers. Most discovered on your phone — between rounds, in the corridor, waiting for the Operation Theatre. Then you sit down at a laptop, desktop, or iPad to read properly, mark them up, and annotate what matters. And then it all disappears anyway — into browser history, forgotten tabs, and WhatsApp links you will never find again.

4–5

Articles read per day

PG residents and faculty consume more medical literature daily than most people read in a month — on phones, laptops, desktops, and iPads across a single day.

~0

Articles retrievable a week later

Without a home for them, every article fades into a vague memory — “I read something about this once, on my phone, somewhere.”

1 tap

Upload straight from your phone

Found a paper on PubMed? Received a PDF on WhatsApp? Upload it instantly from your phone — it lands in your library, searchable, forever.

Annotate on any screen — visible on your phone instantly

Mark up articles on your laptop, desktop, or iPad. Every highlight syncs in real time — so when you pick up your phone on the ward, your notes are already there.

Search with your own words — from your phone

Run powerful queries across full text, your custom comments, keywords, and tags — right from your mobile. Tagged something “cardiology — must revisit”? Find it in seconds.

We are not here to add another app to your routine.

Upload from your phone, annotate on any screen, search with your own words — a learning environment built for how doctors actually work.
